ArcGIS Server Web ADF Runtime for the Microsoft .NET Framework is a redistributable component from Environmental Systems Research Institute, Inc. (Esri) that enables the deployment and operation of web applications built with the ArcGIS Server Web Application Developer Framework (ADF) for .NET. Installed on IIS/ASP.NET servers, it provides the required .NET assemblies, WebForms server controls, resources, and client scripts that allow these applications to consume ArcGIS Server services for mapping, querying, geoprocessing, geocoding, and editing.
Intended for production and test environments rather than development, the runtime does not include design-time tools; developers build applications in Microsoft Visual Studio using the Web ADF and then deploy them to servers where the runtime is present. This technology is now legacy and was retired beginning with ArcGIS 10.1. Esri recommends migrating Web ADF applications to modern ArcGIS APIs (such as the ArcGIS API for JavaScript) and ArcGIS Enterprise SDKs for ongoing support and new development.
ArcGIS Server Web ADF Runtime for the Microsoft .NET Framework is developed by Environmental Systems Research Institute, Inc.. The most popular versions of this product among our users are: 9.2 and 9.3.
